The Ohio Primary is quickly approaching Tuesday, May 6th.  On this broadcast, we discuss the OCA Voter Guide questionnaire and present an update on OCA projects.

The atheist group Freedom From Religion sent a threatening letter to members of the Cuyahoga Falls City Council, demanding that they cease praying before council meetings or face a lawsuit.  Council held hearings open to the public for response. Speaking in support of the prayer tradition is Cuyahoga Falls resident and OCA advisor Ed Sturkey. On this week's edition of News in Focus, Chris and Ed discuss the Cuyahoga Falls prayer issue.  OCA presented legal briefs provided by Alliance Defending Freedom in support of the city council's public prayer.

Ohio's Religious Freedom Restoration Act was withdrawn from consideration by the bill's sponsors, Rep. Derickson (53rd District) and Rep. Patmon (10th District)  in the aftermath of the Arizona controversy in which Governor Jan Brewer vetoed Arizona's Religious Freedom Restoration Act.  Giving an update is State Rep. John Becker of Ohio's 65th District and Charles Tassel of Citizens for Community Values.

OCA President Chris Long, Bryan Wlliams, and State Sen. Larry Obhof discuss the State of the State Address which was once again heard at a location other than the Ohio Statehouse.  John Kasich takes the State of the State on the road, this time to Medina, Ohio. Some legislators claim to be pro-life, but yet refuse to move bills that will protect human embryo life, even when it is within their power to do so.  The time for inactivity is over. Ohio needs to ban human cloning now before it"s too late.
