Chris Long is the President of Ohio Christian Alliance.
Before joining OCA, he pastored for a number of years in
Northeastern Ohio.
Having taught his congregation the importance of civic
responsibility, Chris himself ran for public office for
Akron City Council in 1999, and was the Republican candidate
for the 47th Ohio House seat in 2000. He also served as an
advisor to the Stow Citizens Committee that fought a
challenge by the ACLU which threatened the City of Stow with
a lawsuit stating that the city seal which contained a
Christian cross and open Bible was unconstitutional.
This experience served him well in preparing him to accept
the Executive Directorship of the Christian Coalition of
Ohio in the summer of 2002. Chris quickly prepared the
Coalition for the 2004 Presidential Election in which the
Christian Coalition of Ohio distributed over 2-1/2 million
voter guides statewide in all 88 counties.
The Coalition’s work in educating the values voter garnered
the interest of some 20 different international
publications, including the Guardian of London, the Wall
Street Journal, ABC of Australia, and ABC World News
Tonight. |
