Urgent Prayer Request!
A devastating earthquake has struck the island nation of Haiti. The earthquake, a 7.0 on the Richter Scale, was centered near the capital city of Port-au-Prince. The Presidential Palance collapsed. The U.N. Headquarters collapsed, along with literally hundreds of structures, trapping many victims. Early reports estimate tens of thousands have perished in the quake. Relief organizations are already on the ground conducting search and rescue and providing basic needs to the victims.
Below in this email you will find the links and information for two reputable Christian relief organizations - Samaritan's Purse, headed up by Franklin Graham, and the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief. These are competent organizations that effectively work in disaster areas, providing food, water, temporary shelter, and basic commodities with Christian compassion. Let us pray that the Lord of Mercies will strengthen the hands of the relief workers for the people of Haiti.

Matthew 25: 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
II. Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
