Statehouse Presentation of The 10 Commandments
Columbus, OH -. Today, Ohio Christian Alliance presented more than 20 members of the Ohio General Assembly with beautifully framed copies of the Ten Commandments for hanging in their offices.
The presentation was conducted in the George Washington Williams Passageway at the Ohio Statehouse. Continuing with a tradition that started eight years ago with the 125th General Assembly, the Ohio Christian Alliance offered to any statewide office holder or state representative a framed copy of the Ten Commandments for hanging in their office.
As of today, more than 200 legislators, as well as statewide office holders and some members of Congress, have received framed copies of the Ten Commandments for hanging in their offices.
OCA President Chris Long states, "The Ten Commandments are the moral code of God's relationship with man, and man's relationship with his fellow man. All just and civil governments established among men throughout history have derived the basis of their justice systems from the instruction of the Decalogue."
James Madison, the fourth President of the United States, stated, "We have staked the whole future of American Civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments."
OCA is an advocacy and education organization dedicated to upholding the Judeo-Christian principles upon which this nation was founded as well as defending the unborn, protecting traditional marriage and defending religious liberty. The Statehouse Ten Commandments project is intended to celebrate those principles and underscore their importance to those in government making critical decisions today.
“We are grateful for the strong show of support for OCA’s Statehouse Ten Commandments Project by these elected officeholders,” concluded Long.
