The Ohio Christian Alliance called upon State Attorney General Richard Cordray to file suit against the federal government and its violation of the 10th Amendment in its imposition to mandate Ohio citizens to purchase health insurance, whether they want it or not.
Attorney General Richard Cordray's office released a statement that he will not join the other states that have already filed suit against the federal government it its passage of the Health Care Bill. He stated that he saw no Constitutional grounds to file a suit.
State Senator Tim Grendell, co-sponsor of SJR 7, made the following statement in response to Attorney General Cordray's decision not to take legal action,
“It is most unfortunate for Ohio that Attorney General Cordray is no longer acting as the lawyer for the people of Ohio. Instead he now acts as a federal judge who is unilaterally passing judgment on the constitutionality of the abusive federal healthcare bill, instead of letting Ohioans have the constitutionality of that legislation tested in federal courts."
OCA will be working with Ohio legislators and other Ohio organizations to determine what our next step should be to protect Ohioans from the unconstitutional overreach by the federal government in this newly-devised nationalized health care program. |
