Pastors Protection Act Receives Hearing at The Ohio Statehouse

State Rep. Nino Vitale presents sponsor testimony on H.B. 286, the Ohio Pastors Protection Act. This legislation will protect clergy from having to be coerced or compelled to perform a same-sex marriage ceremony in conflict with the ministers' religious conscience. The legislation also protects churches and their facilites. The Ohio Christian Alliance commends Sate Rep. Nino Vitale and the 24 co-sponsors for introducing  the Ohio Pastors Protection Act in the 131st General Assembly.  

After the SCOTUS decision in June  in which  the  Court apparently legalized homosexual marriage, it is the opinion of many consittutional attorneys that the states must move quickly by way of statute legislation to protect relligious liberties. Texas and Oklahoma have already passed similar laws protecting clergy and churches. Other states are at various phases in the legislative process to enact similar law.  We urge you to call your state representative and state senator to support thie Ohio Pastors Protection Act. The Ohio Christian Alliance strongly supports H.B. 286 and will release updates as they are available.
