OCA Post Election Report

The Ohio Christian Alliance website featuring the Ohio Christian Alliance 2014 Mid Term Election Voter Guide received heavy usage as 212,000 hits were registered in the first four days of November.  From October 1 to November 4, nearly half a million visitors took advantage of the online Ohio Christian Alliance Voter Guide. The OCA board is pleased with the response and will seek to develop and provide new features for utilizing the voter guide online for future elections.

On the November 5th broadcast of News in Focus, former Senator Rick Santorum joined OCA President Chris Long to discuss the Republican wave that swept the country and what it means going forward for the conservative cause.

Over the years, OCA has encouraged Christians to be more involved in the political process. As our mission states below, we encourage citizens to engage in the political process, including running for political office.  This year's ballot featured a number of coordinators and volunteers of the Ohio Christian Alliance who ran for public office - some for city and county offices, some for statehouse, and one member for Congress. They all did very well in their respective races. We would like to commend the following:  Patti Gascoyne, Nick Skeriotis, Richard May. Though they did not win, they had very strong showings.  One OCA volunteer coordinator, Steve Kraus, made headline news by defeating Chris Redfern, the Democratic Chairman of Ohio in the 89th House District.

About Our Organization
Ohio Christian Alliance Mission:

To inform Christians about timely issues and pending legislation
To speak for truth and morality in the public arena
To educate voters through voter guides, score cards, and candidate forums
To train Christian leaders for effective social and political action
To defend the legal rights of Christians against an ever-growing anti-Christian bias

"In a nation such as this where the people choose their leaders, if the Congress be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption."
- President James Garfield

"...God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take a right ground. Politics are a part of religion in a country such as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God. God will bless or curse this country in accordance to the course Christians take in politics."
- Charles Finney
